Rachel Yatzkan is an award winning contemporary music composer and saxophonist. She is one of the two winners of the Danish Arts Foundation “Special price for female composers in 2010” for her orchestral work “Untitled”.
A characteristic of Rachel Yatzkans music is its texture and distinctly sensuous sonorities appearance: it is almost tangibly present in the room. In essence, however, it is as elusive as the substance thoughts, dreams and souls are made of.
Diploma degree in composition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Studied with Hans Abrahamsen and Niels Rosing Schow.
